We take your membership here at University very seriously.

Joining University United Methodist Church has two components – Covenant (an agreement that brings about a relationship of commitment between God and his people) and Community (a feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals).

Though both are required to become a full member they can be completed in any order. To enter the Community of Faith one must either go to the front during the last song/hymn when the pastor gives the invitation to join, or attend the Pastor’s Welcome Luncheon.  Here you will publicly commit the body by professing or reaffirming faith in Jesus Christ (unless you are transferring membership and taking the vows of membership.

The Pastor’s Welcome Luncheons are held April 7, May 19, July 21, September 8, November 3, 2013.

The other component, Covenant, is completed by attending the u|connect class.  This is a three hour class. Dinner and childcare are provided during the three hour class.  Here our clergy will discuss the history and beliefs of The United Methodist Church, and what it means to be a member of University UMC.  As I mentioned earlier we take your membership  very seriously, our goal is to help you look to Jesus so you may look like Jesus.  To do this we have developed what we call a Pathway to Discipleship.  During the u|connect class our clergy will explain to you what exactly that means and how we will be there with you every step of your journey.

U|CONNECT classes are held April 21, June 2, July 28, September 15, November10, 2013.

I am truly looking forward to meeting you soon. If you have any questions about what it means to be a member of University UMC Please do not hesitate to contact me via email ( richard@uchurch.tv) or by phone at 210-696-1033.
