The What, Where, and When of Community Groups
As the name suggests, community groups are meant to focus on the core value of community. Because they’re not focused on discipleship, they aren’t Bible studies. Community groups are led by adults, but are mainly focused on relationships between the students. They are small gatherings of students (and a leader) that meet regularly for friendship, accountability, prayer, laughter and occasionally tears. They're a place where students learn more about Jesus and living life together and a place where we wrestle with the truths of the Bible and encourage one another toward the life that God intends for us. At the heart of each group is the desire to see an authentic community marked by love for Jesus, one another and the world around us.
No two community groups will look exactly the same. They are broken up by grade and by gender and will meet at a variety of times and locations. High School groups are available on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings, while Middle School groups meet on Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons. If you’re interested in joining a group, feel free to contact Becky at becky@uchurch.tv or come to the Student Ministry office and we’ll find one that fits your schedule.
