Zimbabwe, Africa - Summer 2012

General ministry overview.

UUMC’s efforts in Eastern Zimbabwe are aimed at developing partnerships with  Methodist-based institutions in the area.  Current efforts are focused primarily, though not exclusively, on the village of Muziti. There, the goals are to develop a reliable clean-water system and to bring electricity to the village.  This type of assistance helps citizens of the area stabilize their living conditions, encourages teachers to settle in the community, and gives entrepreneurs a supportive  environment for cottage industries.

 Areas to volunteer/participate

Travel to Zimbabwe and monetary support are not the only ways to participate in our Zimbabwe mission efforts.  Persons willing to share their interest in Zimbabwe’s past, present and future are also very much needed in this ministry.  Equally needed are supporters who want to help with fundraising, publicity, and awareness campaigns.
