Malcolm Taylor

Q: how long have you been in this specific mission field?

A: One year.

Q: How long do you plan to serve your present location?

A: 3-5 years

Q: What other fields/ministries have you served and for how long?

A: 19 years with YWAM & Mercy Ships, serving over 30 nations.

Q: Describe in a short paragraph the specific mission work you do. Tell us about the people to whom you minister.

A: I am the Director at the new YWAM base in San Pedro, Dominican Republic. I oversee the running of the campus of 10 to 20 staff and the two main programs of Homes of Hope and Mission Adventures. The Homes of Hope ministry aims to provide a new home to needy families in the San Pedro area who by themselves do not have the ability to improve their own living conditions. These homes are built by teams involving hundreds of volunteers each year. Mission Adventures is a camp like program for High School kids each spring and summer break. The ten day program has teaching, worship, prayer and outreach. Each of the visiting groups is linked with a local Dominican Church to help provide long lasting follow up.

Q: What are the goals for your ministry for the upcoming year?

A: To see an increase in foreign and local staff join the ministry so that we can, not just host visiting teams but branch out with staff led ministry such as Haitian migrant camp visits, counseling groups, children’s VBS ministry and Church construction.

Q: In what other ways can The U partner with you?

A: Come and join us on a house build, volunteer your spring or summer break and work alongside us as we host teams, pray for us, send us care packages!!!
