Welcome to out|reach at The U

Jesus’ ministry was one of movement, never spending very long in the same place, always going to where there were people in need of an encounter with their God. This very idea is the driving force behind outreach ministry at The U. We want to be known as a church of movement, in our community, and around the world – always seeking after the one who needs to have an encounter with the living God as revealed in Jesus Christ. In order for this mission to be accomplished, it falls to those who call this place their spiritual home to be about the kingdom building work of outreach.

Out|Reach Ministries are responsible for serving those outside the walls of University United Methodist Church.  We have decided that as a community of believers committed to the way of Jesus, we need to go into our world and love others.  In Matthew, Jesus said that he would recognize those who follow Him by the way they responded to human need:   

“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.”  Matthew 25:35
