DAY TRIP
The Institute of Texan Cultures - Friday, March 16
Special exhibit of "Griff Smith's Texas". Smith has been the photo editor for Texas Highways Magazine for 25 years. See his beautiful images of Texas. Meet in the south campus lot by the gym entrance. Bus leaves at 9 a.m. Bring $5 for the bus trip amd $4 for the entrance fee. Also bring money for lunch at the Spaghetti Warehouse. Add your name and phone number to the sign up sheet on the 2nd floor bulletin board by March 14 to reserve your spot on the bus.

THE BOOK OF JAMES - Join the Seniors in the "Builders'" Sunday School class as Dr. Michael Reeves teaches the book of James during the month of February.
"FIX-IT SQUAD" Home Maintenance – We have volunteers who do minor home repairs and “honey-dos”. They fix leaky faucets, change light bulbs and batteries, turn mattresses, etc. You furnish the materials and they do the work. There is no charge, though donations to your favorite church project are welcome. Call Arlene Clark, 479-1188 to request assistance or to volunteer as a worker.

Monday
Silver Bucket Singers – Meet weekly at 1:30pm, room 2011, with a summer break. Singing “just because we love to” and sharing our music with others keeps this group of older singers active. Weekly rehearsals emphasize fellowship and musical improvement without being performance-driven. They sing out in the community 10-12 times a year and occasionally for on-site church events or services. Newcomers are always welcome, but calling ahead is recommended so you don’t visit on a day we are out singing! Contact director Rev. Linda Smith, 696-1033.
Women's Book Group - Meets monthly from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m., room S303. Read and discuss current fiction and non-fiction books. Visitors are always welcome to this friendly group. March 5: "The Tiger's Wife" by Tea Obreht. Best seller by a young author who combines fact with folklore to provide a rich interplay of Balkan past and present.

Movie Matinee - 3rd Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m. - Watch a good movie and enjoy free pop corn and sodas. March 20, "Sampson & Delilah", starring Hedy Lamarr and Victor Mature.

PrimeTimer Potluck Dinner –Fourth Tuesdays at 6 p.m., John Wesley Rom. Bring a dish to share. February 28: Try an ancient Chinese exercise, Qigong (pronounced "chee-kung"). Combines slow movements and deep breathing; it is said to increase vitality, lower blood pressure and reduce stress! Wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
Line Dancing – Sponsored by Methodist Healthcare and our Health and Wellness Ministry, this group is mostly attended by over-60’s. Beginners meet every Tuesday 5:30-6:30 pm and Intermediates from 6:30-7:30 pm, both in Room 1001. All ages are welcome – it’s fun and good exercise! Call Earline Richardson, 696-4432

Thursday
Games Day – Every Thursday at 9:30am, a group gathers to play Mexican Train dominoes, which can be played with any number at the table. Other games are welcome, if a whole table can be formed. Call Jack Pool, 697-7144, for location and more information.
Lunch Bunch – Every Thursday, 11:00 a.m.. September through May, a tasty and nutritious lunch cooked by volunteer teams is served in the gym. Make a reservation by Tuesday noon for the $3.00 lunch, then come and enjoy good fellowship along with good food! There is not a weekly program, but special occasions throughout the year include Christmas music and an annual anniversary party honoring those married 50 years or more.
PrimeChimers – This musical group meets weekly at 1:00pm in Room 2002, with a summer break. They play handchimes and have a great time doing it! Some music reading skills (especially counting) are very helpful, though some of our chimers have learned from the very beginning. The group plays at area retirement, assisted living and nursing homes, as well as providing occasional music for church events. Newcomers are always welcome to start chiming, since substitute and occasional replacement chimers are often needed. It is never too late to learn something new! Contact director Rev. Senior Adult Fitness - Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:00 a.m., North Campus Room 206-207. Fee is $50 per month for eight classes. (additional discounts may apply). First class is free! Classes are 40 minutes each and include strength training, balance and stretching exercises. Robert Skinner is the certified fitness trainer.
