Welcome to the University United Methodist Church Adult Sunday School Page. With classes that meet at 8:15 am, 9:30 am and 11:00 am, there is something for everyone. Please take a few moments to see what each class has to offer and join us soon!  You can find a printable copy of these clases here.

Adult Sunday School Classes

8:15 am Sunday School

Bereans: Meets in S205
Our focus is on Bible study with group discussion. All ages. Shared and guest teaching. Get an early start on your day! Led by Nancy Clausewitz and Evelyn Luce.

 

Pre-Flight: Meets in Bunker (back of the campus parking lot).
A Sunday School class for men. Pre-Flight is a ‘Band of Brothers’ composed of a broad age range and varied stages of life. Come be a part of a great group of guys that fosters open communication about every day life for men. Shared teaching.

 

9:30 am Sunday School

Believers: Meets in S302-303
We are a friendly and diverse group seeking to learn God’s Word through study and discussion of class-selected books of the Bible. Currently finishing an in-depth study of Matthew. Weekly reading assignments. Monthly support of selected missions. Socials throughout the year. Led by Carter Crews. Ages 50+.

 

Builders: Meets in S304-305
You are neither “too young, nor too senior” to join these dedicated, fun-spirited couples and singles that offer fellowship and prayer support to one another. Supports numerous missions; enjoys several yearly social events. Bible-based studies led by Charlie Brown.

 

Centennial: Meets in S214-215
We are dedicated to the application of the Word of God through ministry and missions. Personal witnesses on how we can be the hands and feet of Christ for the church at home and abroad. All ages. Led by Jimmy Adair.

 

 Common Ground: Meets in S2005
The Bible is our curriculum. We study scripture through led discussion. Monthly socials and service activities. An informal group of married couples ages 30+. Led by Dana and Betsy Jacobson. 

 

Core: Meets in S2011
We are a group of 30 to 40 year olds (married, not married, with and without children) living out our faith through Bible study, fellowship and service. Led by Steve Dennis and Lowry Lynell .

 

Couples for Christ: Meets in S311 (The Loft)
Energetic class for couples and families dedicated to growing deeper in the biblical teachings of the Word and discovering Christian answers to today’s issues. Actively involved in missions, church ministries, service, and fellowship. Ages 30s-40s.

 

Covenant: Meets in N212
This class is designed for newly married (0 to 5 years) and recently engaged couples, ages 35 and under. Led by Paul Berry.

 

Explorers: Meets in S204
We welcome all ages, married or single, with all levels of Bible knowledge who desire to study the Bible and apply its truths to everyday life. We are mission minded and grounded in prayer. Come learn with us. Led by Chrissie Smith, Nancy Burdine, and Barry Brower.

 

Friends in Christ: Meets in S205
Our class is primarily composed of married couples ranging in age from late 30’s to mid-50’s, usually with children in middle school or older. We are an active class that worships the Lord Jesus Christ and diligently study’s the Scriptures. Our class has 4 or 5 fun fellowship socials each year which are a blast! Come try us out! Shared teaching. 

 

Harvesters: Meets in N207
We are a class dedicated to Christ and committed to living as Christians in today’s world. Discussion-based Bible study and Christian life. Diverse class, ages 30-65. Led by Jeff Kemp

 

Hearts on Fire: Meets in S212-213
We are a caring, loving, and open community of faith, seeking to know and live God’s truth through in-depth Bible studies and fellowship.

 

Men for Christ: Meets in Bunker (back of the campus parking lot)
We study and discuss topical issues that men face. Men gather in the name of God where they can speak their mind, ask questions, and hold each other accountable. Led by Mark Smith.

 

Navigators: Meets in S210
We are a group of adults, most in our 30's to 40's with kids. The class is focused on growing in our personal relationships with God and each other through Bible study, outreach service/ministry and Christian fellowship. Led by David Ransom.

 

Seekers: Meets in S202
Members of class volunteer to teach this lively group of singles and couples. We study the Bible and contemporary Christian books. Discuss daily applications. Enjoy monthly socials. Led by Chuck Whatley.

 

Slater: Meets in S203
We study the Bible and issues that affect our daily living. A lively class for senior adults. We actively support many mission projects and enjoy bi-monthly socials. Shared teaching.

 

Wesley: Meets in S201
We study the Old and New Testaments and discuss how they apply to our lives today. Open discussion. We enjoy singing hymns before the lesson and we often go out to eat together. Ages 50 to 90. Led by Linda Owen.

 

Women of Faith: Meets in S211
This small class of women shares faith through study, fellowship and giving back. Our goal is achieving spiritual maturity in a comfortable class setting while guiding all who yearn for a relationship with Jesus. Led by Susan Lloyd.

 

 

 

11:00 am Sunday School

Barclay: Meets in S212-213
Returning to our roots, our emphasis is on church history from the birth of Christ to present day. All ages welcome. Shared teaching.

 

Brink: Meets in S201
Small, friendly class studying the Bible in depth through lecture and discussion. Topics chosen by class. All ages welcome. Led by Dr. Neva Ann Medcalf.

 

Godly Chicks: Meets in S210
Sanctuary for women of all ages. We strengthen our relationship with Christ through prayer, bible studies with daily application (chosen by class), mission outreach and fellowship. We have a place for you! Led by Ursula Wheeler.

 

Questers: Meets in S214-215
Every 6 to 8 weeks our class alternates studies between contemporary Christian books with discussion, and in-depth Bible studies pertaining to our faith, families and human relations. Class members support each other through fellowship, daily prayer, service and monthly activities. Ages 35+. Shared teaching.

 

Sowers: Meets in S211
We are a diverse group of all ages, married and single, together studying God's word. Led by Ron Caccamese.
