Bridging the Generational Gap in Changing Times: an Interactive Conference

November 4-5, 2011 at University United Methodist Church in San Antonio

 

This two-day conference covers three primary areas: our military and their families, our adolescents, and our persons with special needs and developmental disabilities.

 

Through interactive seminars and workshops, including our lunch and learn tables, participants will have the opportunity to gain valuable information and resources for helping these populations.

 

Highlights of this conference include:

 

  • A Friday night keynote by father and son Pastors Robert and Chris Emmitt of Community Bible Church
  • The well-known “Bridges to Healing Seminar and Workshops” by powerful combat veteran speakers Stephen and Karen Dorner
  • The use of art in the recovery process of mental illness including a presentation with artwork and poetry by father and son Alan and David Drymala
  • Using the state-wide suicide prevention program of ASK by  Mary Ellen Nudd
  • A tour and description of the Sensory-Motor Playroom and Program at UUMC
  • Three (3) hours of Ethics with Drs. Barbara Jacobson and Betty Garza
  • Current substance abuse trends and treatment by SACADA staff
  • Praise and Worship with the Hope Center Church Praise Band
  • Many, many more exceptional speakers and exciting, inspiring programs
  •  This conference is open to licensed professionals (may receive up to 11.5 ceus),  spiritual leaders (including pastors, chaplains, and lay ministers), and interested family members and friends (such as grandparents, parents, spouses, and adult children)
